OUr Subsidy Partners Help Us expand our reach

Currently, our work spans three countries in Central America:

Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

In El Salvador and Nicaragua, our partners advance this work through our subsidy program. Using our Maestros Comaleros model and education tools, they train and certify stove builders and supervisors, equipping their teams with the skills needed to implement stove projects within the communities they serve.

This program enables organizations to expand their services while strengthening their overall impact. Stove projects enhance the effectiveness of WASH initiatives by reducing household smoke and creating safer, healthier homes. At the same time, reforestation efforts become more sustainable with the introduction of Justa stoves, as lower household fuel consumption helps preserve natural resources and supports long-term environmental health.

We also provide partners with supplemental funding to carry out stove projects in their communities. Throughout the year, we offer field support and targeted training to strengthen implementation. After installation, our monitoring and evaluation team assesses performance and adoption, including conducting Kitchen Performance Tests to ensure the stoves are delivering intended benefits.

Our subsidy partners share our values and uphold the high standards that define impactful stove projects. In Nicaragua, they collaborate with our original factory partner, Avanza, supporting local enterprise while ensuring consistent quality through locally sourced stove production.
