Gerry assists factory owners by providing appropriate business tools. On the first team he assisted with developing the concept of creating sustainable businesses rather than simply distributing stoves. Prior to his volunteer work with StoveTeam International he owned and operated a software business and was on the faculty of The University of Oregon in the Department of Cognitive Psychology. He traveled six times to Central America in 2009.
