John currently serves as the Director of the University of Oregon’s Holden Leadership Center. He received a B.S. in History from Oregon State University and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. John’s work in the Holden Leadership Center focuses on providing leadership education, civic engagement opportunities and social innovation training for the University community. He is deeply committed to helping young people realize their full potential and utilizes community based and experiential learning as his primary method of instruction. John is a native of Oregon and enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, reading and spending time with friends and family.
