Son of Maria del Carmen Buezo and Marcos Guerra of ladino descent, his mother a housewife and his father a farmer, neither had access to school. His primary education, beginning at age 7 in school Horcones rural village, Esquipulas, a place he grew up doing agricultural work that his father was doing. The basic education program started by the Educational Radio (IGER) was the only the primary school obtainable At 17 he moved to Guatemala City, invited by a religious seminary, where he completed basic education and had two years of higher education to be ordained as a priest. At 21 years he decided to leave the seminary motivated to seek a new life, coming from humble life and consecration, he became involved in the hectic business life and started working in a prestigious supermarket in the city of Guatemala. Motivated and responsive to humanitarian training taught in the seminary, he became involved in the rescue work of children with drug problems with a foreign NGO operating in and around the city. At 26 he was married to Ana Luisa, and they have 3 children, two boys and a girl whom inspire him and motivate him. Interested in further besting his professional training, he started studying Environmental Engineering and successfully concluded it despite having the responsibility of a family, and working from Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, He was devoted to his college classes. All of his job performance has been done in service to the community, especially the neediest people. With experience in community development and university training in environmental conservation, he has formed a company called ECOCOMAL, focused on management and environmental management. Along with Nancy Hughes, he has a passionate and high respect for human life and the conservation of natural resources. He shares many common interests and decided on a strategic alliance between Ecocmal and Stove Team International to establish a factory in Guatemala for ecological stoves. He does this to take appropriate technology throughout the country for the proper use of resources and the preservation of human life. |
