Join StoveTeam in Antigua, Guatemala for a unique glimpse into the long held Guatemalan traditions of La Cuaresma (Lent), when locals adorn the streets with colorful sawdust and flower carpets for processions in anticipation of Semana Santa (Holy Week) and Easter. Improve your Spanish, explore Guatemala, and volunteer for a good cause.
The trip runs from Saturday, March 5 - Sunday, March 13, 2016 and includes a week of language school, stove construction, and sightseeing in Antigua.
We'll stay at the beautiful San Jose el Viejo Spanish School (www.sanjoseelviejo.com) and receive half a day of one-on-one lessons with a local instructor, either in an outdoor classroom on the school grounds or while touring around Antigua. Then, we'll spend our afternoons with Marco Tulio at the EcoComal factory, building stoves and helping distribute them to the local community. Reserve a spot today to join us on this fabulous and life-changing trip to Guatemala! All in-country expenses except alcohol are provided for a price of $1500 per person (plus airfare) based on a double occupancy or $1700 per person (plus airfare) based on a private single room occupancy. If you plan to sign up as a single participant, StoveTeam may be able to arrange a roommate depending on participation. Limited to 16 participants, sign up today!
